Documented circulation is the original post and its comment thread. Two readers asked the designer for permission to use the flag, one for email signatures and one for printing and merchandise in Germany, and both were granted; whether either went ahead is not recorded. [1]

- Colour intensity, and whether a composite flag can be made legible to people with sensory-processing conditions. The designer, who has such difficulties, agreed with the criticism and began a muted second version, posting one attempt in the thread with the note "It's nothing fancy but I found this easier on the eyes". Roughly a year later they reported that the muted version was "still very much in my rotation but I simply haven't made anything successfully publishable".
