One of a set of Magen David pride flags the creator posted to Tumblr on 17 and 18 June 2024, each an existing community flag with a Star of David added and its proportions and colours adjusted. The first post carried eight; this flag and the Philadelphia People of Color variant were added the following day, offered to “my lovely Queer Jews of Colour and wonderful Polyamorous Jews”. ^[2][3] Ten of the set were uploaded to Wikimedia Commons in a single batch on 12 March 2025, and the set has continued to grow on Tumblr since, on request. ^[5][2][6]

The flag appears in a Tumblr post of 18 June 2024 at 18:12 UTC, a two-image addition the creator made to her own set of Magen David pride flags posted the previous day. ^[3] The Commons file she uploaded on 12 March 2025 gives 18 June 2024 as the date of the work, so the statement she entered at upload and the contemporaneous post agree. ^[1] The upload itself, at 00:25 UTC on 12 March 2025, is a second publication rather than the first.

The flag is documented in Jewish-sideblog’s own Tumblr publication of 18 June 2024, in the Wikimedia Commons file she uploaded on 12 March 2025, and in later online recirculation of that file. The creator states the derivation: “A Jewish variation of Red Howell’s Polyamorus flag with the Star of David.” The misspelling is hers, and this is the only one of her ten Commons files that names the designer of the flag it adapts. ^[1][5] Red Howell designed the base flag; Jewish-sideblog designed the Jewish variation.

Measurement bears the statement out. Howell’s flag and this one carry the same three bands in the same order, of equal depth at exact thirds, and the same white chevron built the same way: arms at exactly 45 degrees, apex a third of the way down the hoist rather than at the centre, lower arm meeting the bottom hoist corner and upper arm running off the top edge.
