Disability Pride Flags

Not every Pride flag in this database represents a Queer identity. The Disability Pride Flag represents disabled people and disabled self-advocacy. Ann Magill’s design was later reworked with disabled community feedback to make it more visually accessible. It belongs here because this database follows the modern Pride flag-form outward from its Queer histories, including places where that form is used by communities that are not themselves LGBTQ+. Disability is documented here on its own terms, not as a subset of Queerness.

  • Disability Pride Flag Ann Magill released the current Disability Pride Flag on October 13, 2021 after collaborating with disabled people who experienced visually triggered symptoms from the earlier zigzag.
  • Disability-Inclusive Pride Flag A 2024 flag by Valentino Vecchietti commissioned by Evenbreak that incorporates the Disability Pride Flag colors in a heart shape into the Intersex-Inclusive Progress Pride Flag.
  • Progress+ Flag (Disabled Queer Transmasc Variant) A disabled Queer transmasculine designer, posting as it_couldbe_worse_, made this Progress flag variant on 31 March 2024 after their partner mistyped "trans day of disability", and posted it to r/QueerVexillology the same evening.
