Both take the seven-stripe structure of the International Bear Brotherhood Flag, ending in white, dark grey and black, and both were published in three versions: with the 2009 flag's double-Mars symbol, with a nonbinary variant of it, and with no symbol. The blog neopronouns posted both concepts on 7 August 2020, in answer to an anonymous request. The stated method was to model the structure on the International Bear Brotherhood Flag, "seven stripes with the bottom three being white, dark grey, and black", because other gay subculture flags, "like otter and cub flags", had taken the same base, and to put the 2009 twink flag's interlocking double-Mars sign where the bear flag has its paw print. where the bear flag has a pawprint, i put the double mars/mlm sign featured in the original twink flag, and i also made a nlm version and one with no symbol. [1]
the original twink flag (from what i could find) uses pink to represent femininity and yellow to represent youth and happiness, so i tried to keep with that theme! [1]
i also added a turquoise stripe, as turquoise represents femininity and love, and used a similar yellow to the original. [1]
for the second, i kept the darker pink stripe and added a purple stripe between it and the turquoise stripe to represent degrees of femininity! [1]
