Colors & Symbolism
The 7-stripe Gayer9000 design simplifies the heteroqueer color progression into a shorter sequence that follows the same Queerness-to-straightness gradient logic established by the Mod AP versions. The stripes move from Queer-associated tones at the top through neutral middle stripes to straightness-associated tones at the bottom.
| Colour | Hex | Meaning |
|---|---|---|
| Gradient (community-attributed, not creator-issued) | — | Gayer9000 did not publish individual stripe-by-stripe meanings. Community readings follow the same gradient logic as the Mod AP heteroqueer flags: the upper stripes represent Queerness and the lower stripes represent straightness, with the intermediate stripes acting as transition bands between the two ends. The 7-stripe count is a simplified version of the broader 12-stripe Mod AP design rather than a re-symbolization. |

Discourse & Debates
- Whether the straight Queer or heteroqueer identity is a meaningful identity category, and whether straight-identified individuals can or should claim Queerness.
Common confusions
- May be confused with other heteroqueer flag variants from the same period, including the 12-stripe Mod AP flag and the queerhet chevron flag by xenogender-aligned.
Straight Queer, heteroqueer, and queerhet are overlapping terms for people who identify as both straight and Queer.
