Ally and Solidarity Pride Flags

Flags meant to signal support or solidarity rather than name the person displaying them as LGBTQ+. The familiar Straight Ally Flag, a rainbow “A” over black-and-white stripes, appears to date to the late 2000s, but its designer and exact origin remain unknown. What does it mean for allyship, a relationship or practice of solidarity (rather than a marginalized identity), to have a Pride flag of its own?
