In March 2019, Reddit user u/AtomicFurry76 posted an earlier furry pride flag concept. FursonaPins published a separate design on June 28, 2019, which gained broader adoption. The FursonaPins design was released as free to use for anyone in the furry fandom, for both personal and commercial purposes. ^[1]

The FursonaPins design quickly became the dominant furry pride flag through social media circulation and its permissive usage terms. It is commonly seen at furry conventions and in online fandom spaces. ^[1]

The earlier design by u/AtomicFurry76 (Reddit, March 2019) predates the FursonaPins version by a few months, but did not achieve comparable adoption. Both designs emerged in the same period, reflecting community interest in a fandom-specific pride symbol.
