Apogender names a subset of agender, defined by the archive that documents the flag as one in which "you feel not only genderless but entirely removed from the concept of gender." pastelmemer is a Tumblr user who coined identity terms and designed flags during the mid-2010s MOGAI vocabulary expansion, and who later used the name pastelroswell. AUREA's aromantic terms glossary records the account under both names, crediting "Pastelmemer a.k.a. Pastelroswell on Tumblr" with coining amicusromantic, apresromantic and desinoromantic. [3] Within this archive the same designer is credited with the three-band pomo- flag carrying a white four-pointed star. [4] No further biographical information has been located, and no statement by pastelmemer about this flag has been located.
Attribution notes
The pride-color-schemes post of 10 July 2016 credits the design to @pastelmemer and records the term's coiner as unknown. [2] The DeviantArt file page, up since August 2015, carries the definition and a link to the community blog pride-flags-for-us but names no designer, so the credit exists only on Tumblr. [1]
The LGBTQIA+ Wiki dates the flag's creation to 10 July 2016 and attributes the term to the Tumblr blog queerspike on 11 July 2014. [5] The creation date does not survive the file it is drawn from: the post of that date is a write-up, and the DeviantArt copy it links for full size had been online since 23 August 2015. The queerspike attribution is a separate claim and is recorded here as the wiki's, unverified against an original post; the blog has been deactivated.
