ImStevan published this Serbia-specific asexual pride design on Wikimedia Commons on 14 April 2023, identifying it as own work and describing it in English and Serbian as the flag of Serbia combined with the asexual pride flag. The file was originally uploaded as "Ace serbia.png" and renamed two days later to "Asexual pride flag Serbia basic.png." ^[2][4]

The design preserves Serbia's three-band state-flag arrangement and off-centre crowned arms while replacing the field with black, grey, and purple, with white carried through the emblem. The design belongs to a series of Serbian pride-flag combinations published by ImStevan. Four earlier files on the same naming pattern are dated September 2022: bisexual on 25 September, and lesbian, intersex and gay-man versions on 29 September. This asexual one followed about seven months later. ^[5][6][7][8] What prompted either the series or the addition is not documented.

This design is documented principally by its creator's own Wikimedia Commons file page. Contextual sources establish its national and design components, but no independent account of adoption has been located.

Lineage

A combination flag. It takes the design of the flag of Serbia, which is not in this database, and the palette of the Asexual Pride Flag, which is. The Serbian source is the state flag rather than the plain civil tricolour: the coat of arms is present, in the offset hoist position it occupies on the state flag. ^[1]

No meaning is stated by the maker beyond the combination itself, and none is asserted here. The design carries the asexual flag's colours and the Serbian state flag's form. ^[1]

The asexual flag's own four colours are conventionally read as black for asexuality, grey for grey-asexuality and demisexuality, white for allies and partners, and purple for community. That reading belongs to the parent flag and is documented on its own entry; this file states no meaning for its bands, and the white one is not present to carry a meaning at all.

No palette is published. The values above are measured from ImStevan's original 2560 by 1707 PNG and are exact readings of that file rather than a separately published creator specification. ^[2] They are not approximations.

The source contains antialiasing and transitional pixels around the detailed arms and at some band edges. Those are artefacts of the rendering and are not additional intended palette colours. Measurements taken from a resized copy differ: the archive's 1920 by 1280 delivery file carries roughly thirteen times as many distinct values as the original.

The three band values are reused inside the arms, which is what makes the recolouring read as deliberate rather than as a tricolour with a stock emblem dropped on it: the purple of the crown is exactly the purple of the bottom band.

Three approximately equal horizontal bands in the arrangement of the Serbian tricolour, carrying the asexual flag's colours: black over grey over purple. The coat of arms is set toward the hoist rather than centred, spanning from 23 to 48 per cent of the width and reaching across all three bands, which is where it sits on the flag of Serbia. ^[1][10]

The parent Asexual Pride Flag has four field stripes, while this adaptation uses three bands in the Serbian state flag's arrangement. White is omitted as a field band but remains prominent in the eagle and cross. ImStevan did not explain this allocation.

The recolouring reaches into the coat of arms rather than stopping at the bands. Sampling the area the arms occupy returns black, white, the asexual purple, gold and grey, and the purple is the same value as the bottom band. Where the arms of Serbia are red, this version is black in the shield fields and purple in the crown; the gold of the crown, the fleurs and the beaks is unchanged, and the eagle and cross stay white. ^[1]
