We had an assignment in art class to take an old piece and re-vamp it. I combined three old pieces and made this. It was a really fun relief piece.
This is sort of a companion piece to Handy Hor-Wal, I wanted to use some more ideas I had and so I combined elements of him with symbols I have used for myself to create a double dynamic self portrait of sorts. I like it and the composition is very different than my other pieces. It has a very commercial vibe which I think is perfect for the piece.
This is acrylic and colored pencil on posterboard. The idea really morphed over time, but I am very very pleased with the outcome. This is a new favorite of mine.
This piece is meant to be a mixed media portrait (of my friend Jess); I used a collage of cut up polaroid, an eye from a portrait from last year (done in graphite), Sharpie and Copic markers and a number two pencil. I like the way it turned out, but I may do another mixed media portrait to hand in instead. My goal for tomorrow is to lay out my colored pencil still life.
These are line contour sketches I did from photos I’ve taken this year of myself and friends. This was created partly to finally do something with these really cool pictures, and partly cause of that expression “you are your five closest friends” etc. I love the final product with the black background.
